Juliette Street Archaeological Project
Dallas, Texas

Welcome to the Juliette Street Archaeological Project website!

This is a research project which seeks to use archaeology and history to examine the rich African-American heritage of downtown Dallas. A heritage which is being lost in the ever changing urban landscape of the city.

The project formally began with the 2002 University of Texas at Austin archaeological field school on Juliette Street which brought students and faculty from UT's Anthropology Department and the Center for African and African-American Studies together with the congregation of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
