Anthropology is the study of human cultures. Anthropologists study the whole spectrum of human existence across time and space to address fundamental questions about what we are, and why. Cultural anthropology takes a holistic perspective, exploring the complex interrelationships of family and kinship structures, technology, economy, political organization, religion, personality, the arts, language, identity, race and ethnicity, and other key aspects of social life in a given culture.  Archeology studies past cultures by excavating their remains, linguistic anthropology studies human communication and physical anthropology studies the human body and how it has changed through time.

Together, we'll take a look at the discipline of anthropology—a broad, and hopefully entertaining, look at what anthropologists do and why it is important.
